Ooh, just got tickets to the upcoming Ween show in Pomona. I imagine Gene and Dean are gonna either melt my heart or melt my brain, depending on which songs they decide to play.

Leaky Little Boat - by Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers
And as I wake, I look around.
I have no notion where I’m bound.
So many different colored boats I see.
Are all leaky, lonely and driftin…
Just like me.
Jesus, it’s July. Let’s put on the Peacemakers and find a hammock somewhere.

Channel101:NY screening TONIGHT at 92YTribeca 200 Hudson St. Doors open at 8, show starts at 8:30. Sponsored by Krasdale.
Don’t miss it! Jon Golbe and Jess Lane helped us make the show, too! I’ve never been to New York’s version of Channel 101 but I imagine it’s pretty amazing.
The Church Channel - by Say Anything
“Woah, do you remember me? Is your mind that worn?
We both were born-to be one with that which the public scorns.
Though you were forlorn-
In despair with your drugs and your hardcore porn
Trust me, those days won’t be mourned.—So lay your head on me.”
The Informant Trailer. Looks sweet.
Damon, Bakula, Joel McHale, Soderbergh, corn, mustache. Stoked.

Silverlake Walker Mural (click for large)
Found via Lonely Sandwich. Check out the Lonely Sandwich blog about it for the full good story:
The other day, I’m walking in my neighborhood not to stay in shape, but to get a burrito and I see a guy painting a mural with various depictions of the Walker around town. I get my burrito. Shrimp. Really frickin good. Not five minutes later, I see the Walker and he’s heading in the direction of the mural. “Oh shit,” I think to myself. “He’s gonna be pissed.”
Our buddy Paul is in a car right now heading towards Los Angeles again. Hopefully we get to keep him this time.

Tuesday’s arrival stunned a nation still recovering from the nightmarish slog that was Monday, leaving some to wonder if the week was ever going to end, and others to ask what was taking Saturday so goddamn long.
“If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph:
THE ONLY PROOF HE NEEDED
FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD
WAS MUSIC”- Kurt Vonnegut Jr, as quoted in “Vonnegut’s Blues For America” Sunday Herald (7 January 2006)
I know I’ve posted this quote before. It’s one of my favorites. Thanks music, for being around. I’m glad I’m not a raccoon or a pineapple.
